Bungie, PlayStation’s video game developer, to lay off 17% of its workforce
PlayStation’s Bungie, the video game developer that originated the Halo franchise, is laying off 17% of its workforce.
The Destiny 2 maker is laying off hundreds more employees.
Bungie had around 1,200 employees last year before 100 were laid off amid a delay to the big Destiny 2. In a blog post, Bungie executive Pete Parsons confirmed the company is cutting about 17% of its workforce, or around 220 people.
The 220 layoffs come alongside the integration of an additional 155 roles, or 12% of Bungie’s workforce, into parent company Sony Interactive.
