Long-Term Sales Agreements for LNG

Chevron Australia and the Gorgon Joint Venture Participants have announced the signing of three binding long-term Sales and Purchase Agreements for Chevron's share of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Gorgon Project. The project produces LNG and domestic gas on Barrow Island for Australia and export markets.

Fifteen Years of Investment

Almost 15 years ago, Chevron Australia and its partners made the final investment decision for the Gorgon Project. Today's announcement confirms that the Joint Venture is progressing the development of the project's Stage 2 expansion.

Stage 2 Production Begins

The second stage of the Gorgon field project offshore Western Australia has begun producing gas. The project will expand the Gorgon LNG facility to increase gas production capacity.

Expansion Approved

The Australian Government has approved key infrastructure for Chevron's Gorgon LNG Stage 2 expansion, allowing the project to move forward with construction.
