Paul, meanwhile, is ranked 32nd in the world and has had a breakthrough season in 2024, reaching the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time.

The two players have met once before, with Alcaraz winning in straight sets at the Australian Open earlier this year. However, Paul will be confident of causing an upset after his impressive victory over Alcaraz in the Davis Cup last year.
